Xylenes Technical Grade is a clear, colorless liquid that is greasy to the touch. It is a mixture of three isomers of xylene, ortho, meta and para-xylene. Its chemical formula is C6H4(CH3)2. Xylenes are also known as Dimethylbenzenes and Xylol. Xylene is insoluble in water but miscible with many organic solvents. It is an aromatic hydrocarbon widely used as a solvent in various chemical reactions. Unless a higher purity grade is specified, Technical Grade chemicals are of sufficient quality for industrial applications. Technical Grade chemicals are mainly utilized in large-scale commercial manufacturing.
ChemieR provides an extensive selection of high-purity salts, acids, base and high purity solvents, including alkali metals, alkaline earth compounds, perchlorates, heavy metals, rare earths, transition metals, silver and precious metals, and triflates. ChemieR specialize in inorganic chemicals, offering materials with low moisture content and minimal trace metals. ChemieR stands out with a diverse range of laboratory chemicals, from organic and inorganic reagents to solvents.
Application :
- Xylenes Technical is primarily used as a solvent (a liquid that can dissolve other substances) in the printing, rubber, and leather industries.Â
- Along with other solvents, xylene is also widely used as a cleaning agent, a thinner for paint, and in varnishes.
- It is used as a raw material for the manufacture of fibers, dyes, and films, it is also used in laboratories to cool reaction vessels, as a clearing agent.
- It serves as a key solvent in the production of resins, adhesives, and other chemical intermediates.
- It is used in the laboratory in conjunction with dry ice to act as a coolant.Â
Benefits :
- High purity which required for the technical grade
- High solvency power and fast evaporation rate, making it an efficient solvent for various applications.
- Miscible with most organic solventsÂ
