Description

Stannous Chloride Dihydrate ACS Grade CAS: 7772-99-8 | M.F: SnCl2 | MW: 189.62, Buy now for Reproducible and reliable results from ChemieR Inorganic Reagent. All ChemieR Products are exclusively distributed by Dawn Scientific Inc.

Stannous chloride dihydrate, classified as ACS grade, presents itself as a solid crystalline substance that can range from white to colorless in appearance. Its chemical formula is SnCl2 · 2H2O. Stannous chloride dihydrate is composed of tin ions (Sn^2+), chloride ions (Cl^-), and two water molecules (H2O) per formula unit. It is also referred to as Tin(ll) chloride dihydrate. When dissolved in water, Stannous chloride dihydrate ACS grade forms a transparent solution. It has a tendency to attract moisture from the surrounding air, resulting in the formation of the dihydrate form. The manufacturing process of ACS grade stannous chloride dihydrate adheres to specific purity standards, guaranteeing dependable and consistent performance in experiments and processes.

ChemieR provides an extensive selection of high-purity salts, acids, base and high purity solvents, including alkali metals, alkaline earth compounds, perchlorates, heavy metals, rare earths, transition metals, silver and precious metals, and triflates. ChemieR specialize in inorganic chemicals, offering materials with low moisture content and minimal trace metals. ChemieR stands out with a diverse range of laboratory chemicals, from organic and inorganic reagents to solvents.

Application :

  • Stannous chloride dihydrate, ACS may be used in the preparation of indoles. It may be used in the transformation of conjugated dioxolones, conjugated and non-conjugated acetals (dimethoxy and diethoxy acetals) to aldehydes.
  • It plays the role of a catalyst in the synthesis of 3-aminoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines.
  • It can be used as precursor for the synthesis of tin dioxide (SnO2) nanostructures by thermal degradation at temperature between 400-700 under controlled conditions.
  • It is mostly used in electrolytic baths destined for tin-plating, it is also widely used as a reducing agent.

Benefits :

  • Meet the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity
  • Effective Reducing Agent
  • Gives accurate results
