Chromotropic acid disodium salt ACS is greyish white to brownish white colored powder. Its chemical formula is C10H10Na2O10S2. It is also known as 4,5-Dihydroxy-2,7-naphthalene disulfonic acid sodium salt. It is useful because of the red color when chromotropic acid in 75% sulfuric acid reacts with formaldehyde.
