Sodium Borate Decahydrate ACS Grade CAS: 143-66-8 | M.F: Na[B(C6H5)4] | MW: 342.22, Buy now for Reproducible and reliable results from ChemieR Inorganic Reagent.

Sodium Borate Decahydrate ACS is a colorless, odorless, and translucent crystal with a sweetish alkaline taste. It is a significant boron compound, a mineral, and a salt of boric acid. Commonly known as borax or sodium tetraborate decahydrate, it has a chemical formula of Na2B4O7Β·10H2O. Comprising of sodium ions (Na+), borate ions (B4O7^2-), and water molecules (H2O), its structure is a network of borate ions interconnected by sodium ions and water molecules. This compound easily dissolves in water and is available in various grades, including the high purity ACS grade suitable for laboratory use.

ChemieR provides an extensive selection of high-purity salts, acids, base and high purity solvents, including alkali metals, alkaline earth compounds, perchlorates, heavy metals, rare earths, transition metals, silver and precious metals, and triflates. ChemieR specialize in inorganic chemicals, offering materials with low moisture content and minimal trace metals. ChemieR stands out with a diverse range of laboratory chemicals, from organic and inorganic reagents to solvents.

Application :

  • Sodium Borate Decahydrate ACS is used as part of a process (as a flux) meant to eliminate the need for mercury in the gold extraction process, although it cannot directly replace mercury.
  • It can be used as a catalyst in the Regioselective thiolysis of 1,2-epoxides by using thiols to synthesize Ξ²-hydroxy sulfides, Hetero-Michael addition of thiols with electron-deficient olefins to synthesize corresponding Ξ²-adducts, and Solvent-free Biginelli reaction to synthesize 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones.
  • It can also be used as an additive to prepare polypyrrole-borax composites with high dielectric properties.
  • It has many uses as in detergents, cosmetics and enamel glazes.

Benefits :

  • Meet the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity
  • Versatile and effective product
  • Safe and easy handling
  • Cost effective
