Decane ACS is a clear liquid. It is classified as an alkane hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C10H22. Its scent resembles gasoline, similar to other alkanes. Decane consists of 10 carbon and 22 hydrogen atoms that are covalently linked. This hydrocarbon is found in minimal amounts (less than 1%) in gasoline (petrol) and kerosene.
