Cupric sulfate pentahydrate ACS is a bright blue crystalline solid. It is non-combustible, odorless. It is a hydrate and a metal sulfate. It contains a copper(II) sulfate. It is also known as Copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate, Blue Vitriol, copper(II) salt (1:1) pentahydrate. It is a Lewis acid catalyst commonly used to promote acid-catalyzed organic transformations.
